This 16 layer PCB is the main processing board for a super computer. With 12 of these boards plugged into a backplane, this computer screams with 48 Altera Stratix processors and 96 gigabytes of RAM. The interboard data bus has 192 LVDS pairs with Texas Instruments' latest in LVDS technology. The challenges on this layout project were enormous and included line length matching, impedance control, and common mode cancellation on the LVDS bus.
